Assists the OT monitor students’ progress and help adjust treatments accordingly. COTA will work under OT’s supervision and, if state law permits, help develop treatment plans. Write and maintain reports with proper documentation of information, such as client Medicaid, billing records or caseload activities, including initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of clients. Participate in and assist in writing reports for meetings regarding patient’s progress, such as individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings, in-service meetings, and/or intervention assistance team meetings. Work on a one-on-one basis and/or in groups to deliver therapy under the supervision of an OT. Complete administrative responsibilities, such as coordinating paperwork and scheduling case management activities. Must provide evidence based OT intervention to improve student’s performance skills and participation. Ensure that all services provided are in accordance with district and state laws and regulations. Perform other occupational therapy duties.
